Toshiba Develops Fuel Cell Prototypes for Mobile Audio Devices
September 22, 2005
Toshiba has developed two cell prototypes fueled by highly-concentrated methanol for portable music players. The cell, with 3.5ml fuel tank capacity, can keep a flash memory-based audio player running for 35 hours on single charge, while the one with 10ml fuel tank capacity can power a HDD-based player for approximately 60 hours. Toshiba expects to commercialize the fuel cell in 2007.
